September's Kill that Kit!

Yeah finally got to do a layout from my kit! I chose the Use Your Words Challenge: Sweet to kill my kit.  I also scraplifted one of the layouts from Carol .My word I had to use was SMILES when you see the photo you will see why. MY daughters loves bright colors and this will be perfect for her scrapbook. I tried to have it read masculine with touches of girly . I got to use a little of everything from my kit and that makes me smile.

First Full Journal Page

Yes it has been a long month didn't get to craft much at ALL!
But yesterday one of the artist (Willowing) I follow shared a little bit of what she is struggling with. Then gave her answers that were helping her cope. I heard the message.  Dede (Inkwell) on her upstream showed us what mind mapping is and how it can help you get your creative juices flowing . I will be using this method (because I struggle with not knowing what to draw) .That saying I don't know what to draw (create ) is not an excuse (Or at least not a good one). So I bought my first cranson xl multi media book O yeah. I can not let fear stop me .I know that I am not good and need a lot of practice. Not just watch but also do . There is so much out there if you just take the risk .So I am sharing my first journal page, the forth girl I have ever drawn. So go easy .

I used acrylic paints and gelatos(first time using them) in the background  and colored the face with pencils.

September Counterfeit Kit

Counterfeit Club  is so much fun and keeps you inspired to try new things while using what you have in your stash. I like have challenges because it get me motivated and now I have so many great layouts.

This month I am lifting  from the  Citrus Twist July Kits ,the Adventure project life add on .

CKCB challenge #1: Geocaching Challenge Blog Hop

 My hidden cache is on the very top , behind the  layout. I made a large pocket for my photo insert and tag using Scotch Foam Tape this allows the page to lay flat.

The photo insert  and tag pulled out :

 I placed the photo insert and tag behind paper  to mark placement.Then add foam tape to create pocket  sandwich between background pattern paper and card stock.

The Page Protector is a 12x12 - 6 up- 4x6 photo sleeve  Cut on the crease lines to form 4- 4x4 pockets I used washi tape to close edges . I also used the 1 inch strip that I cut from background at the  top to match the layout .

Challenge #3: No Patterned Paper

This is a hard challenge I love to use paper mostly on my layouts. So the challenge was no pattern paper, I like how these challenges push you out of your comfort zone. Also I used almost everything from my kit .The pearlized blue paper and wash tape were extras.Also the glitter alphas , I used Lindys Stamp Gang Sprays.  I am  mostly  happy with the way it turn out . I have been playing around with my photos on Pic monkey , I like the filters they have .

Counterfeit Leftover Challenge

I absolutely loved this challenge. This is probably my fastest layout ever. I definitely will do this more often. We had to use  our scraps .This is also my plainest layout ,I kept looking at my embellishments and shaking my head no. Finally I just knew for me ,that the story needed it be told very simply. My friend Nancy Mcpeak took these photos . I am so happy the  feeling of love is caught in the photos.

Lindy Stamp Gang Color Challenge

I have to say before Lindy's Samp GangI only had two sprays mist pearl and gold . Then I tried to make my own mist sprays very messy. I saw Lindy's and loved the color and two tone shimmer now I have 15 sprays. Yes I need more, because I  have been playing with my two magicals ,simple joy.

This  canvas is made from all recycled items . Box for Ikea, paper from tuesday morning (what the wrap glass wear with). This will hang on the wall. Measures 14 by 14 .
